Delete your account and data

You can delete your Dhanlaxmi account at any time, free.

In the app

1. Open the app and go to More, then Delete account [confirm menu path].
2. Optionally take a backup or export first.
3. Type the confirmation phrase and enter the 6-digit code we email you.

If you no longer have the app

Email [email protected] from your registered email address, or [email protected], with the subject "Delete my account" and your registered phone number. We verify it is you with a one-time code, then start the same process. We confirm within 2 working days.

What happens

1. Your account is locked immediately and every device is signed out.
2. For 30 days you can sign in again and restore everything.
3. After 30 days your login, phone, email, name, contact details, uploaded files and devices are erased or anonymised.
4. What we must keep: posted invoices, ledgers, stock records and the audit log are kept in a locked archive for 72 months after the relevant GST return due date, because Indian tax and accounting law requires it, and are then erased. They are not used for any other purpose.
5. Security and system logs are kept for 180 days as CERT-In directions require.
6. Encrypted backups rotate out within about 12 months; deleted data is not restored to your account.

To delete only some data (for example one customer's details) or to correct data, use the app or write to [email protected].
